This year marks the 11th anniversary of Diabetes Day at the Capitol, an annual event to educate Kentucky's decision makers and publicly recognize those who have made an impact on diabetes prevention and control in the past. This year's event is on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, from approximately 8:00 am to 3:00 p.m. in the Capitol Annex building behind the State Capitol building. The day will begin with advocacy training for all participants. Snacks and T-shirts will be provided for all participants. Please join us at this important event.

Clicking the button at the bottom of this page will take you to a printable registration form you can complete ahead of time and bring with you to Diabetes Day at the Capitol. This will save you and us time in checking in on the morning of the 2nd. Before you register you might want to read the following helpful information about Diabetes Day.

INFORMATION  TO HELP YOU ON DIABETES DAY:

The goal of Diabetes day is to educate our legislators about diabetes. To do so we need as many people as possible to meet with their legislators personally. Most likely, you will need to have an appointment to meet with your legislator. When you register online you will be given the names of your legislators and the phone number of their office in Frankfort. We encourage you to call and make an appointment. If you tell us during registration that you intend to make an appointment, we will contact you later to find out the time of your appointment. We will maintain a list of appointments organized alphabetically by the legislators name on this website here. If you cannot make an appointment you may be able to attend with someone else who has already made one. You will also be able to inquire onsite on February 2nd about attending one of these scheduled meetings.
